In law school, Calvin was the first African American executive director of the Michigan State Appellate Moot Court Board, which finished in the top 10 nationally under his tutelage; senior associate editor of the Journal of Business &Securities Law and Michigan State International Law Review, respectively; member of the Fieger Trial Practice Institute; and Bernard J. Fieger Scholar. In addition, he studied abroad in Kyoto, Japan at Doshisha University Law School, where his studies focused on international law and legal studies.
Outside of the legal field, Calvin enjoys being exposed to new cultures, experiences, and perspectives. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, watching college basketball and football (Go Green! Go White!), and volunteering his time with Lawyers for the Creative Arts. Calvin places a high premium on those he serves both professionally and in the community at large.
